Eddie Gershon Media Relations

Founded in 1991, Eddie Gershon Media Relations is staffed by former journalists.

We know exactly how the media works and use our skill and experience, as well as our extensive media contacts, to get our clients talked about.

We are proud of our long-standing association with a number of our clients. For example, we have been retained to undertake all media relations work (including financial PR) for national pub operator JD Wetherspoon plc since 1991.

Media relations can mean different things to different people.

Our view is simple – it is to work closely with journalists in order to gain media coverage across print, radio, TV and social media.

We act as the vital conduit between our clients and the media.

Reputations take time to build and are the cornerstone of any successful business.

However, they can be lost in minutes, even seconds, if a business does something wrong.

Our skill is to ensure that we deal positively and proactively with any situation that might harm our client’s reputation.

Eddie Gershon is the founder and managing director of Gershon Media Relations.

He started the business in 1991, having previously worked for many years as a news and business reporter on a number of newspapers and magazines.

Eddie is a media relations and reputation management specialist who advises and acts for a number of the UK’s leading leisure and hospitality companies, working closely with the respective chairmen and chief executive officers.

He is a PR Week award winner and has twice been listed in the PR Week Power Book, which highlights the UK’s most influential communications professionals.

Media relations can mean different things to different people.

Our view is simple – it is to work closely with journalists in order to gain media coverage across print, radio, TV and social media.

We act as the vital conduit between our clients and the media.

Our journalistic background and experience means that we are well placed to know exactly what journalists want from us and, in turn, this results in continued coverage.

Gaining the trust of journalists is important and a quick read of journalists’ testimonials highlights why journalists enjoy working with Gershon Media Relations.

Our approach is to be proactive, whether it be by ‘selling in’ positive stories or by dealing with negative press.

Journalists are often happy to have a positive story to write, rather than doom and gloom, and our efforts will ensure our client’s successes are broadcast far and wide.

A crisis can occur at any time and usually without warning.

It can spell disaster if businesses or business leaders fail to react to a crisis or react without giving the situation proper thought.

What is needed during a crisis is a cool head and, most importantly, the right response.

Journalists pounce on a crisis immediately and a business can easily get caught up in the maelstrom and make the situation worse by failing to handle it properly.

Our approach is simple yet effective – we deal with the crisis from start to finish, ensuring that journalists receive ongoing responses to their questions and offering advice to our clients throughout the process.

Reputations take time to build and are the cornerstone of any successful business.

However, they can be lost in minutes, even seconds, if a business does something wrong.

Our skill is to ensure that we deal positively and proactively with any situation that might harm our client’s reputation.

The fast pace of the media, especially online and social media, means that any situation that can harm a client’s reputation has to be dealt with skilfully and professionally.

We work closely with our clients to make sure their good news is broadcast to as wide an audience as possible, and to prevent any stray particle of negativity building to a critical mass.
