Ernest Samuel Evans was a compositor and printer who learnt his trade in London, before returning to Pembroke to manage a newspaper in Dimond Street, Pembroke Dock. In 1920, after the newspaper ceased production, Ernest set up the company Dimond Press and moved to Pembroke.
When Ernest died in 1944, his son Alexander – Alec – took over the family business with his wife Lucy. They continued the successful running of the company until his untimely death in the 1970s.
Keeping the business once again in the family, Alec’s son, Andy, took over the running of the business with his mother, Lucy. When she retired, Andy’s wife, Catharine, joined him and together they have brought the family business to where it is today.
Having always had a passion for type, colour, and most of all creativity, we launched Monddi (an anagram of Dimond); a design agency created to coincide with the integral trend in graphic design as part of the business profile.
Over the last decade, website design and development has become a pivotal part of our work, and this complements the creative branding and print requirements of our clients.
