Advertising is broken down into two main categories, traditional advertising and digital advertising.

As there are so many advertising agencies in the UK to choose from, the question is, where do you start?

We always encourage companies to select an advertising agency that knows your industry sector.  They will know your market, your clients and your competitors.

By comparing advertising prices from agencies, we want to see you get the best deal for the best campaign.

Rather than searching websites on Google for advertising prices, just fill in the form and let us do the work for you.

How Much Does Advertising Cost?

Advertising prices do depend on a few different factors, some of which are listed below:

  • What advertising medium are you considering (newspaper, online, TV or digital advertising etc.)?
  • What is the size/length of your campaign?
  • What advertising agency will you select?

All the above mediums carry different rates, and vary considerably. Generally the longer the campaign is, the higher the discount will be per advert/day etc

All advertising agencies are independent businesses, privately owned with their own profit margins.  The need to shop around therefore is essential.  Advertising prices tend to be higher with larger agencies, as they have higher running costs.

However this does not mean larger brilliant advertising agencies will deliver a better advertising campaign.

Choosing Your Advertising Medium

Advertising prices do vary depending on the advertising medium you select.

  • TV Advertising – TV advertising is a very powerful form of advertising, but advertising prices will vary.  Which channel did you want to advertise on, what time of day, what area of the UK did you want to target?  These all affect the price of advertising on TV.  Who uses TV advertising, a huge range of companies use TV advertising.  It could cost you £2,000 for a 30 second advert, or £10,000.  Advertising around Christmas is popular with advertising for charities.
  • Billboard Advertising – Billboard advertising can vary in cost from £200 per week up to £2,000 depending on the location.  The more people that are likely to view your billboard advert, the more the advertisers will charge.  If you wanted a billboard advert in Leicester Square, vs in Festival Place Basingstoke, the advertising price difference would be huge.
  • Radio Advertising – Like TV advertising, radio advertising costs will vary depending on the radio station you choose, the time of day and the location in the UK you select.
  • Digital Marketing – Digital marketing is very new, and the advertising costs are much more affordable than the other options above.  With digital advertising, you pay per customer, rather for the campaign itself.  Often described as ‘pay per click’ when a website visitor clicks on your advert, you pay a small fee to the search engine or social media company.

Charities Pay Less For Advertising

Most advertising mediums offer a discount to charities, for advertising on TV, radio, billboards and even digital marketing.

With hundreds of commercial TV channels, regions, and executions to choose from, many build cost effective TV advertising campaigns to suit all needs.  Be it a large national advertiser across multiple UK TV networks and channels, or a smaller regional campaign, we will find a solution to meet your needs.

Generally, TV advertising is bought and sold on a Cost Per Thousand (CPT) basis (the cost an advertiser pays per 1,000 views). This price is either negotiated and fixed with the TV station or set by ITV and traded at a discount or premium depending on numerous factors.  Charities get a discount, which explains why we see so many charities advertising on TV.

Comparing Advertising Agencies

Choosing a marketing company to handle your advertising campaign is challenging, as there are so many in the UK to choose from.

When considering different companies, looking at industry experience is very important. The UK has hundreds of advertising companies scattered around, so it does make sense to use an agency that knows your industry.

Whether you are using them for TV advertising, brand awareness or social media marketing.  Using an agency that knows your industry should deliver you better results.

Finding an agency that has sufficient resources is also wise.  All advertising agencies have different skills and different resources, so you do need to shop around and compare the market.
